October 2002 - "I just thought I'd drop you a quick note and let you know how Robin and Mandy are doing. This past weekend I showed Robin at our Octoberfest horse show. Robin qualified for the Intro level dressage adult championship class. We ended up with a 66% and third place. It was the highest score I've ever gotten on a dressage test on any horse, so I was pretty pleased. We also won a regular Intro level test and got a qualifying score for next year in Training level. (It was only our second training level test ever.) Robin has improved so much in just the last couple of months. The first part of September I took him to a four-day Mark Rashid clinic, which was the best clinic I've ever been to. It helped me so much in getting him soft, light and collected. Now that Octoberfest is out of the way, I plan to start jumping Robin. Hopefully by spring we will be ready to go in 18" and 2' hunter classes. A report from Kim (Spring 2002): "The other day, Robbie was running around with the gang in the pasture and jumped a jump. He, of course, jumped it like smooth little hunter. I can hardly wait to start jumping him, but I'm going to wait till this fall after the show season is over. We are signed up for our first show in April 2002. We'll do a couple of Intro Level dressage tests."
Robbie was a joy for me to know during his first two years of life here on Dawn of Promise Farm. Robbie was a little shy when he was a young foal, then quickly blossomed into the farm pet when he was weaned. He loves people and was simply gorgeous to watch out in the field when he was frolicking by his mother or playing with his siblings. All of his gaits are lovely and his conformation is very correct. He now lives with Kim Lessor in Washington who also has a half-bred filly (Mandolin Song) by Kerrymor Madison.
