Realta defines Connemara! She is
a Dawn of Promise Farm foundation mare. In October 1997, she was inspected and
approved for an Irish CPBS Passport. She delivered her fifth beautiful foal by Kerrymor Madison
on April 5, 2002. She now lives with Linda Painter at Heaven Can Wait Farm and will be bred to Madison again in 2005.
Realta is a quiet, loving soul. She is a wonderful lead-line pony, terrific
mother and has enormous, untapped athletic potential. She's been busy raising
foals and until the summer of 1997 had not been asked to work much under saddle.
When a second riding pony was required, Rea came in from the pasture and was
given a new role which she took on with great interest. She's willing, brave and
patient. We gave her a year off from breeding, so Realta did not not raise a foal
in 2000. She has enjoyed the time for riding and being used for leadline
lessons. In May 2000, she was asked to jump for the first time during a riding
lesson and said, "Yah, yah, yah. This is easy. I've been watching Savannah
and Madison and
I think I can even do it better." She quietly trotted over
cavaletti and crossrail jumps with her student and showed us all that Connemaras
are versatile, patient and easy-going. Rea
went to a hunter/jumper show in June
and won a blue ribbon in walk/trot out of about 10
entries and placed 2nd and
4th in her two crossrail jumping classes. What a superstar pony! I wouldn't trade
her for the world.
