Madison is 19 years old this year (2006) and still in fabulous shape and great spirits. He's been in my life since he was a yearling, coming to Dawn of Promise Farm from Top of the Ridge in 1988. He was bred by Kerrymor Farm. Madison loves to hack bareback through the field or be tacked up for schooling fences or work in dressage. He is a great sport about the fact that my job doesn't allow me to keep him in work in any kind of regular routine. I've never needed to lunge him before getting on. His mind is just the kind you want in a riding partner. Sharp, willing, bold, forgiving and he can always pick up where we left off the ride before if we were working on something new -- even if there are several days or weeks in between rides. He is a loyal companion and would lay his life down for me if the occasion called for it. His athleticism has enabled him to save us from a couple of trappy situations out riding in treacherous terrain. He is happy to go out on the trail alone with me and is also a gentleman in trail riding groups.
