The Connemara ponies of Dawn of Promise Farm are busy about 8 months of the
year teaching beginner riders. The ponies want you to meet their riders!

Madison is demonstrating how fine Connemara qualities pass down the generations.
The photo below is of his grandmother, Easter Bonnet, who is still taking
children to shows in her third decade of life.

lives in Missouri with her owners) teaching one of the many children she has
started in her 30+ years of life. She is 34 years old in this photo! (Photo

Serendipity's Savannah, with Levi who took walk-trot lessons last summer,
and Fly High Tinker Toy, who as a yearling was led around at this fun show by
Levi's brother, Jacob, another student at DPF.
This is Annie on her favorite DPF pony, Realta! Realta had not been used
as a lesson pony on a regular basis until the spring and summer of 2000 when
Savannah was busy with raising Danny. Rea quickly became a favorite for several
of the kids. This pony has a sweet, gentle spirit and seems to learn by osmosis.
When she doesn't understand something she doesn't get flustered. She simply
walks to the center of the arena and asks me for help. I LOVE this pony!
Micah has "loved horses her whole life" and quickly picked
Savannah as her favorite. "Savannah is the color of the pony in my dreams,
beige," she says. And she loves that Savannah has a smooth trot and listens
to her deepest thoughts. Micah rode the canter for the first time last fall on
Savannah. We rode two up on that special day, Micah behind me on Savannah, for
trotting and cantering on a trail ride and a glorious adventure through the back
field. We couldn't decide who among the three of us had the most fun!
This is Amy enjoying a riding lesson in the fall down at Burnett's
Creek which runs through Dawn of Promise Farm. The kids always love getting away
from the routine of the arena. The ponies do too!
