Connemaras and Llamas

Dawn of Promise Farm is home to show quality llamas and Connemara ponies and horses. Established in 1985 by co-owner and trainer, Vickie Maris Greeson, the farm has raised many wonderful Connemara ponies who have become beloved equine partners to their owners. Most of the Connemara offspring from the farm are sired by Kerrymor Madison, who was honored in 2002 by the American Connemara Pony Society with the Hall of Fame An Tostal Trophy for outstanding performance.

Halter champion and full Chilean male llama, FFF Mas Chiri, was purchased in 2009 as herd sire. He is a gentle giant and passes on his wonderful conformation, fiber, and disposition to his offspring.

With Vickie's interest in llamas and animal-assisted therapy, the Greesons shifted the focus of the farm last year to raising show quality llamas for breeding stock, performance, trail companions and pets.

The farm has young llamas and Connemaras available for sale. Several crias are expected in 2010. Contact Vickie or check the for sale list for more details. Thanks for checking out the website!

Success at the Indiana State Fair

Llamas from Dawn of Promise brought home several ribbons in the halter divisions. I Believe "Betty" won 1st under both judges in the light wool class of yearlings, and earned Reserve Grand Champion. LUA Annabell Status placed 2nd and fifth in a huge class of medium wool yearlings. Cierra and Holly also brought home ribbons. All four were terrific in the novice performance classes. Check the show page for more details. The next outing with the show girls will be the North American International Livestock Expo.

Results of Llama Showing Workshop
Emaly Leak conducted a workshop on Dawn of Promise Farm on June 14, 2009. Over 50 people were in attendance to learn tips on presenting your llama to a judge in halter or showmanship classes, and tips on obstacle course training. The llamas of Dawn of Promise were the trainees and the participants in the mock show. A very fun afternoon!
